IAESTE ISRAEL – International Students:

Dear student,

IAESTE Israel invites you to join its summer traineeship program to gain practical experience and broaden perspectives. The traineeship is an opportunity to put theory into practice, while soaking in a new culture, language and customs. Since its inception, IAESTE has exchanged more than 350,000 students worldwide.

Each year, IAESTE Israel hosts students from all over the world. Students are placed at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Israeli universities, high-tech companies, industry and architecture firms in Haifa and Tel Aviv, and are provided with accommodations at Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, Tel-Aviv University and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

In order to make your arrival to Israel as easy as possible, we recommend:

1) At the Airport: you can change your currency to local money or at the Banks. There are different conversion rates and we advise you to check.
Please consider that you are getting your first salary one's a month, at the end of August or at the beginning of September.

2) Direction to the Dorms:
Students to Haifa: Please go to the Train station at the terminal and take a train to "Haifa Hof HaKarmel" station, from there, you should take a bus to the "Technion" and then ask for the Dormitories.

Students to Jerusalem: Please go to the Train station at the terminal and take a train to "Jerusalem Malha" station, from there, you should take a bus to "Mount Scopus: The Hebrew University" and then ask for the Dormitories.

You need to take a bus to Jerusalem (http://www.egged.co.il/HomePage.aspx).from there you can take a taxi to your lodging.
Students to Tel-Aviv: Please go to the Train station at the terminal and take a train to University's main
gate and from there you have a short walk to the Dormitories.

The alternative: Taxi "Sherute" - service for 10 passengers, works 24/7, at the Terminal.

3) Accommodation- is available from 1.8.16 till 30.9.16 at noon. In case you will need one or two days before, please let us know and we will check if it will be possible. We know for sure you can’t stay longer even not one day, sorry. Please make sure you have were to stay for the extra days before arriving or after. The amount fee will provide in the next few weeks. We are still waiting for the information.

The Dorms do not include linens and dishes, Please come with bedding, Towels, kitchen utensils and personal items.

5) Sports- We recommend you to bring a medical certificate and a passport photo to participate in sports activities, which may cost some fee at some Universities.

6) Dress code- casual.

7) Weekends- We are planning travels on weekends. Those trips are a recommendation only and will be charged, we will ask one of you to be in charge of collecting the payments please.

8) Living Stipend- will be 2800 ILS per month, in Israel is customary to pay once a month.
Those of you who doing their internship at the Technion, we will let you know upon your arrival, when and how you’ll receive it.
The others- please check with your employer at the end of your first week.

9) Visa- We do not provide a Work Permit Visa to come to Israel. In case you will be asked at the border, your name will already appears on a list they received from the Ministry of Interior Office. You will be able to enter Israel on a Tourist Visa which usually available for three months.

10) Medical Insurance- Health insurance, luggage etc, is a must.
You need an insurance that covers all.
11) Food- at the Universities you can find a supermarket and various restaurants.
